On Valentine’s Day, 14 February, two international opera stars will be putting on an evening of top-class musical fun and entertainment, for one night only, in Bury St Edmunds. Valerie Reid and Graeme Danby regularly appear at English National Opera and in many opera houses across Europe. They are also co-Presidents of the Bury Bach Choir, and are presenting “Across the Atlantic” in order to raise funds for the choir.
Across the Atlantic is a highly entertaining programme of music from both sides of the pond, featuring a collection of all time favourites from the ever enchanting Flanders & Swann, alongside the compelling humour and ascerbic satire of Tom Lehrer. The interaction between Valerie and Graeme, accompanied on the piano by Lydia Newlands, will have us grinning and laughing from the start, as they involve us all in what can only be described as a trans-Atlantic musical romp.
The event will take place at 7.30 pm on Saturday 14 February in the Garland Street Baptist Church in Bury St Edmunds.
